A P40 Warhawk, modeled and textured by me for a personal project.
If you’ve read my other portfolio post about the FM53 Gas mask, this Warhawk was a similar project to challenge myself with something that is a complex shape, but is essentially made from one piece. And, like the gas mask, this one was quite difficult. I wanted to get this model as accurate as possible- my tendency to fudge the details had gotten on my nerves. I tried to get every single nut and bolt as accurate as I could.
The middle P40 was a fun side project to create an early World War 2 Naval paint scheme for a fighter that, well, was not a naval fighter.
Pictured here is an unpainted, ahistorical version to show off the panel lines and bolts I did for the texture. I wish there was an automated way to do it, but these had to be done by hand. Either way, I’m quite proud of the result.
